Vehicles past and present

Here they are in chronological order of purchase. This creature of habit would appear to have paid homage to the legacy of Henry Ford over the years. The Wolseley is the only 4 wheeled exception. The Sapphire was my favourite for comfort, performance and style.

1976: Wolseley 1.3

1978: Yamaha DT175 Enduro

1980: Yamaha XS500

1981: Yamaha XS750 shaft drive, triple cylinder

1986: Ford Cortina Mark 3 1.6 GLX

1989: Ford Cortina Mark 5 2.0 Ghia

1993: Ford Sierra 2.0LX

1996: Ford Sierra Sapphire 1.8 GLS

1999: Ford Mondeo 1.8 LX

2005: Yamaha FZ6

Fantastic history! We truly enjoyed looking at the beasts. We will have to get a snap of our 2002 Subaru WRX--the little brother of our '94 Volvo--on the fotoblog soon.

I had a good laugh with your post. It's great to find someone with worse 'new car fever' than myself.

R & E - very pleased you like them. I love to reminisce and cars are as good a memory as any! I look forward to views of the Subaru...

Morgan - cars are great to own. Now I'm reliving my youth and enjoying the thrill of two wheels all over again.

CJ - looking at these reminds me of that old TV prog "The Rock and Roll Years," news footage set to pop music of the time.

P.V. that's a lot of steel and glass and rubber. I have to say I'm glad I no longer own a vehicle, since Zurich is the ideal town to not have to.

It wasn't always so. Once upon a time I fetishized cars; dreamed of owning Porsches and Veloce Spiders and Ferraris.

Nevertheless, I found your time-warp display rather amusing and fun.

Finn - funny how we find ourselves attached to inanimate objects! Most of those pictures pre-date the digital age so my scanner had work to do.
