Shopping and sandwiches

My lunchtime walk takes in the shops around Bargate, East Street, Above Bar Street and Lower West Quay. I walk right past all of them except HMV. To finish I lie in the sun in Mayflower Park and nibble a sandwich.

JJ - cheese (grated through the smallest holes in the grater!) And one small chocolate biscuit - no need to overdo it!

Rowena and Eugene - Southampton has medieval roots which poke through everywhere you turn. Sometimes the new buildings look uncomfortable beside them. Sandwich was nutritious and delicious.

Mussolini - that's right girl, bring out the technology! Post some more pics of your continent...

what is that next to the last picture? Is it a Road right next to the building or is it a paved bicycle path or sidewalk? it's not a road, right?

Morgan - well observed! The paved path on the right is reserved for pedestrians while the lanes on the left are for cyclists. No cars allowed on this piece of track!

I'll swap you six of my taxi rides for two of your lunchtime walks.
