The forest

Took a walk in deep in the forest last night. It was heavy dusk as I made my way back to the car park. I've walked here in the dark when I miscalculated the time - not to be recommended. It gets darker than one can imagine.

JJ - I have 140 square miles of forst and open heath 5 minutes drive from me. I have lived around it all my life yet there are still remote corners I haven't yet explored.

There seems to be an area or a walk to match any mood I may be experiencing. It's a beautiful escape.

Rowena and Eugene - yes, this path is a section of one that connects Beaulieu with Brockenhurst. Sadly roads have replaced many bridleways and a railway bisects the forest. However it is still possible to stroll for ages and not see a soul. (Except in camping season!)

wow. the last one looks like frost's road-less-traveled. i'm taking it.

Transience - I like less-travelled roads, they mean fewer disturbances or interruptions. Carry all you need in your pocket, travel light.

Flea - you like 'em! Yes I can see your army of ants marching between the pines, carrying supplies to the nest.

Finn - bet you don't go anywhere without a torch now!

Flea - once bitten twice shy!

I want to go over to England so much. maybe someday when the boy's a little bit older and a lot more obedient.

Morgan - come on over, the climate is best in summer and autumn. If my lads are anything to go by, your little boy may well remain (ever so slightly) disobedient until his 20s, so don't wait too long!
