Sandwich time

I walk through this stone wall and perch on one of these benches to nibble my picnic lunch every day - rain or shine.

Kimberly - I get very irritated when my treasured lunchtime space is invaded by others! Not too many people go to this little corner most of the year but in the summer nosy tourists usually find it.

There are photos of some medieval buildings early in my April Archives. I pass them all on my lunch hour stroll, they date from 1100AD - truly old!

Kimberly - I know that 'incurable romantic' feeling! The strong connection is surely because of your genetic ties to the country.

However you also have that intangible sense of sheer happiness one feels when in a place that fits so well. That ones's harder to explain away.

I think you would like the South too. It has a different beauty altogether, the coastline is amazing. Crooked lanes leading down to rocky coves, grassy hills flowing gently to the sea, clean cut cliffs of chalk and bays of yellow sand. Think I'll go to the beach at the weekend!

Transience - my lunchtime spot is nice and private. I don't like sharing it - no problem in the rain in November! 'Tucked in' is a goos description.

Some of our secluded coves on the South Coast can be very private. The South West in particular because it is more sparsely polpulated.

Kimberly - yes I'm rolling up my towel ready for the weekend. Your Mexican beach sounds lovely. We like the beaches on Florida's Gulf Coast, especially those further south. Soft white sand and no people!

Ah! You know how to make a man miss England.

Ruk - just occurred to me there's quite a lot of words in these comments. The pictures prompt a story to be told. England looks good from the air and from distance, it is still a touch irritating at close quarters. Familiarity and contempt I guess.
